Alright, folks, time for a little Storytime. Buckle up! 😉
Picture this: It’s 2017, and I team up with a programmer to build the website for my first independent brand. We’re working tirelessly for months, pouring everything into this digital masterpiece. Blood, sweat, and tears – the whole shebang.
Then, out of nowhere, disaster strikes.
I wake up one day, ready to see our progress, only to find the entire site has vanished.
Gone. Poof!
Just like that.
How’s that for a gut punch?
I mean, how does someone "accidentally" delete an entire website? Technical mishap or finger fumble? regardless, it was a proper gut punch.
But wallowing in self-pity? Not my style. Not for long at least... I dust myself off, put on my big girl pants, and decide, "Darn it, I'll do it myself."
I switched from WordPress to Shopify, rolled up my sleeves, and dove into the world of Shopify. It wasn’t easy. I was sleep-deprived with a one-year-old baby NOT IN DAYCARE 😮.
Endless learning and trial and error. But guess what? I freakin’ well did it.
In just 30 days, I got it done. I built that first website from scratch, mastering the ins and outs of Shopify along the way. That setback fueled my fire, and learning to code wasn’t as painful as I thought. Actually, it was kind of fun.
That morning when the entire site vanished! It was a wake-up call. It made me realize I had the power to control my own destiny. I’ve learned that lesson many times before, but a cold, hard reminder staring you down in the face - is always a good catalyst to haul ass, right? 😉
Fast forward to 2020, it took me another 3 years to solidify my expertise and officially become a Shopify partner. But the journey didn’t stop there. By 2024, I was invited into the prestigious Shopify Experts program to get my certifications done. How did I get Shopify to invite me into the program? Well, that's another fun story we can chat about over coffee –
virtual or real.
Alongside this, I took on the role of head of the eCommerce department for a digital assets brokerage firm, overseeing more than 200 business evaluations each month and helping entrepreneurs sell those hard-built, blood-sweat-and-tears-scaled brands that were like their third or fourth child, enabling them to do successful exits. This role sharpened my strategic insights and gave me a broader perspective on what makes eCommerce businesses thrive.
My evolution doesn't end with Shopify. As my expertise grew, so did my horizons. I expanded into Wix, becoming a Wix partner, and continued to push the boundaries of eCommerce excellence. Working with the two biggest and most powerful companies in eCommerce, which are in direct competition with each other, has placed me in a unique position.
I have mastered both platforms, which allows me to leverage their strengths to help my customers.
